A crowning jewel of Indian handloom heritage, the Patan Patola requires both warp and weft silk yarns to be resist-dyed before weaving. Only a handful of master artisan families in Gujarat preserve this centuries-old geometric craft. The dyes are extracted from natural madder root, indigo, and turmeric.
